With increasing oral health problems dentistry has become a very happening and lucrative career. Dentistry is rapidly changing creating new challenges, scopes and vistas. New branches of dentistry include cosmetology which is a corrective treatment and orthodontics which involves straightening of the teeth and jaws.
But you should keep in mind that only bookish knowledge will not suffice if you want to be a good dentist. You will have to walk the extra mile if you want to establish yourself as a popular dentist. You should always keep in mind that being an emergency dentist is not easy. You will always have to be on your toes and attend to your patients as and when required. Here your own liking and mood takes a backseat. Thus the job of emergency dentists is very tasking.
You should remember that a good dentist sees more than the molars and the paycheck. A good dentist has to always give a patient hearing to the grievances of the patients and try to solve their issues with care. You should also try to establish a friendly relation with your patients but never let anything deter you from your scientific objective. Lastly, you should not work for the patient but with the patient involving him in every stage of the treatment so that he is aware of what you are doing and most importantly consents to it.
